Reimagining The Terrace at Walmley Golf Club
Created by Ingentro Consultancy
Turning the Terrace Into a Social Hub
As part of the Ingentro Consultancy review at Walmley Golf Club, we looked at how the outdoor terrace could be improved to create a more welcoming, social and revenue-generating space for members and visitors.
The terrace already had fantastic views and space, but with some simple improvements it had the potential to become one of the most popular areas of the clubhouse — particularly during spring and summer evenings.
This proposal has now been agreed by Walmley Golf Club and the terrace will be transformed into a social and evening space for members and visitors.
Proposed Improvements
Our proposal focused on small but high-impact changes:
Festoon / string lighting for evening atmosphere
Summer planting and flower planters
Improved table layout and spacing
Branded parasols for shade and sponsorship
Day-to-evening usability
Creating a relaxed social terrace environment
These changes are designed to make the terrace somewhere members want to stay longer, meet friends, eat, drink and socialise.
Why This Matters
Small environmental improvements like lighting, planting and layout can significantly increase:
Time spent in the clubhouse
Member satisfaction
Use of the clubhouse in the evenings
Event and function opportunities
Overall atmosphere at the golf club
The aim was to turn the terrace into a true social hub for Walmley Golf Club, not just an outdoor seating area.
The Vision
More members using the clubhouse
More social events
More evening trade
Better atmosphere
A stronger golf club community
